Формування культурологічної компетенції судноводіїв на заняттях з англійської мови

Abstract

Успішність в оволодінні іноземною мовою значною мірою визначається «зануренням» особистості в культуру народу – носія мови. Тому одним із пріоритетних завдань навчання іноземних мов є формування культурологічної компетенції студентів, що передбачає наявність знань про національно-культурні особливості країни, мова якої вивчається, про норми мовленнєвої та невербальної поведінки її носіїв, а також вимагає вміння будувати свою поведінку відповідно до цих особливостей і норм. Саме тому автор розкриває особливості формування культурологічної компетенції судноводіїв на заняттях з англійської мови за допомогою методу проектів, роботи з автентичними текстами, бесіди з представниками різних культур і національностей. Одной из приоритетных задач обучения иностранным языкам является формирование у студентов культурологической компетенции, что предполагает наличие знаний о национально-культурных особенностях страны изучаемого языка, о нормах речевого и невербального поведения ее носителей, а также требует умения строить свое поведение в соответствии с этими особенностями и нормами. Именно поэтому автор раскрывает особенности формирования культурологической компетенции судоводителей на занятиях английского языка с помощью методов разработки проектов, работы с аутентичными текстами, беседы с представителями различных культур и национальностей. English has a status of a language of international communication, which results in a permanent increase in the number of those who wishes to learn it. The success in learning a foreign language is largely determined by the individual immersion in the culture of native speakers. Therefore, one of the priorities of foreign language teaching is the formation of culturological competence of students, which presupposes knowledge of the national and cultural characteristics of the country the language is spoken, about the rules of verbal and nonverbal behavior of its bearers, and requires the ability to regulate their behavior in accordance with these features and regulations. The modern concept of language education makes an important emphasis on the need not to limit the study of a foreign language by it verbal code, but to form a «picture of the world» in the student consciousness. Learning a language without knowing the cultural realities of the people, can lead to a distorted and limited use of the language. The article deals with the importance of culturological competence for future navigators and the problem of developing cadets’ culturological competence in the process of English language learning. That is why the author reveals the peculiarities of the culturological competence formation of navigators at English lessons with the help of different methods, such as project work, learning with authentic texts, interviews with representatives of different cultures and nationalities. The theoretical and practical aspects that influence upon the process of culturological competence formation of navigators while learning English language are grounded.
