The Impact of Labour Market on ESP Courses for Marine Engineers

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the modern maritime labor market (e.g., crewingagencies, shipowner companies) on the development of ESP courses for future ship engineers on LMS MOODLE. The technologies and concepts that are central to the Fourth Industrial Revolutionwerelisted in the research. It was highlighted that the requirements for ESP are growing. An analysis of recent research and publications has been done. The research was conducted on the base of KhersonState Maritime Academy, Ukraine. The results of the research proved Artificial intelligence is playingan increasingly important role in the maritime industry. It was also proved that ESP programsconstantly change from time to time due to the changes in the labor market. Стаття присвячена аналізу сучасного ринку морської праці (наприклад, крюїнгових агентств, компаній-власників) щодо розробки курсів з англійської мови для майбутніх суднових механіків на LMS MOODLE. У дослідженні перераховані технології та концепції, що є центральними для Четвертої промислової революції. Було підкреслено, що вимоги до англійської мови для спеціалістів зростають. Було проведено аналіз нещодавніх досліджень та публікацій. Дослідження проводилося на базі Херсонської державної морської академії, Україна. Результати дослідження довели, що штучний інтелект відіграє дедалі важливішу роль у морській галузі. Також було доведено, що програми з англійської мови для спеціалістів постійно змінюються через зміни на ринку праці.
