Educational and methodological support of professional training of seafarers in the Maritime English course

Abstract

The article analyzes the theoretical and practical implementation of educational and methodological support for the professional training of specialists in navigation and ship management in the course of maritime English. Based on the analysis of the methodological aspect of blended learning and its integration into the process of learning ESP, it is found that such an organization of training has a number of advantages, in particular: the use of electronic resources at a convenient time for students; new knowledge will be obtained autonomously, and in the classroom, in communication with the teacher and classmates, to practice new skills, discuss, conduct seminars organized in the form of electronic discussion forums; variety in the choice of learning modes. The article substantiates the importance of introducing active teaching methods in the blended learning format and emphasizes the need to develop digital content, the content of which will contribute to the formation of foreign language communicative competence. It has been established that the use of modern technical means makes the educational process more efficient and allows for a wider use of the potential of educational material at all stages of students' learning and cognitive activity and assessment of its results. У статті проаналізовано теоретичну та практичну реалізацію навчально-методичного забезпечення професійної підготовки фахівців з судноводіння та управління суднами. На основі аналізу методичного аспекту змішаного навчання та його інтеграції у процес вивчення англійської мови професійного спрямування виявлено, що така організація навчання має низку переваг, зокрема: використання електронних ресурсів у зручний для студентів час; нові знання можна буде отримувати автономно, а в аудиторії, у спілкуванні з викладачем та одногрупниками, відпрацьовувати нові навички, дискутувати, проводити семінари, організовані у вигляді електронних дискусійних форумів; різноманітність у виборі режимів навчання. У статті обґрунтовано важливість впровадження активних методів навчання у форматі змішаного навчання та наголошено на необхідності розробки цифрового контенту, зміст якого сприятиме формуванню іншомовної комунікативної компетентності. Встановлено, що використання сучасних технічних засобів робить освітній процес більш ефективним і дозволяє ширше використовувати потенціал навчального матеріалу на всіх етапах навчально-пізнавальної діяльності студентів та оцінювання її результатів.
