Використання дистанційних освітніх технологій у викладанні іноземної мови у вищих морських закладах

Abstract

У статті визначено практичну необхідність переходу від традиційних методів оффлайн навчання іноземної мови до інноваційних форм і методів дистанційного навчання, охарактеризовані основні ефективні ресурси для досягнення цілей у викладанні англійської мови у вищих морських закладах. Було визначено, що дистанційне навчання передбачає надання учбового матеріалу студентам, інтерактивну співпрацю викладача і студентів, надання консультацій студентам, контроль успішності студента. На основі власного досвіду та досвіду колег встановлені основні переваги та недоліки дистанційного навчання, а саме можливість навчатись будь-де маючи стабільний інтернет, але можуть виникати проблеми, які пов’язані з відсутністю достатнього зорового контакту між студентами та викладачем, а також недостатнім контролем над виконанням вправ або тестових завдань. Проаналізовано можливості, які надають дистанційні освітні технології та показані типові приклади вправ з їх застосуванням на заняттях курсу «Морська англійська мова». У публікації визначені основні ефективні ресурси для викладання, а саме Zoom, Google Meet, основні платформи – Moodle, охарактеризовані основні можливості онлайн дошок (Miro, Figma). У статті охарактеризовані основні можливості платформи Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment), яка дуже ефективна у виконанні завдань, тестів, вивченню матеріалу. Moodle – це система управління навчанням, яка орієнтована на організацію взаємодії між викладачем та студентами, а також може використовуватись для організації дистанційних курсів. Система Moodle активно використовується у ХДМА для підтримки навчального процесу очної і заочної форм навчання студентів. Віртуальні дошки (Miro, Figma) є незамінними інструментами дистанційного навчання англійської мови, які спрощують процес сумісного використання навчального матеріалу. Ми охарактеризували основні можливості онлайн дошок (Miro, Figma), а саме можливість працювати багатьом студентам одночасно, малювати, писати, використовуючи маркери, олівці, будувати таблиці, писати коментарі та переглядати відео. Для викладача найбільш ефективним інструментом дошки Miro вважаємо функцію “Drag and Drop”, яка надає можливість працювати викладачу та студентам всієї групи одночасно над одним завданням. The article identifies the practical necessity of changing from traditional offline methods of foreign language learning to innovative forms and methods of distance learning, characterizes the main effective resources for achieving goals in teaching English in higher maritime institutions. It was determined that distance learning involves the provision of educational material to students, interactive cooperation between the teacher and students, provision of consultations to students, monitoring of student performance. Based on our own experience and the experience of colleagues, the main advantages and disadvantages of distance learning have been established, namely the ability to study anywhere with a stable Internet, but problems may arise that are associated with the lack of sufficient visual contact between students and the teacher, as well as insufficient control over by performing exercises or test tasks. The opportunities provided by distance educational technologies are analyzed and typical examples of exercises with their application are shown on “Maritime English” lessons. The publication identifies the main effective resources for teaching, namely Zoom, Google Meet, the main platforms – Moodle, and describes the main capabilities of online boards (Miro, Figma). The article describes the main capabilities of the Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) platform, which is very effective in completing tasks, tests, and studying the material. Moodle is a learning management system that is focused on organizing interaction between the teacher and students, and can also be used to organize distance courses. The Moodle system is actively used in the KSMA to support the educational process of full-time and correspondent forms of student education. Virtual boards (Miro, Figma) are indispensable tools for distance learning of the English language, which simplify the process of compatible use of educational material. We characterized the main capabilities of online boards (Miro, Figma), namely the ability to work with many students at the same time, draw, write using markers, pencils, build tables, write comments, and watch videos. For the teacher, we consider the “Drag and Drop” function to be the most effective tool of the Miro board, which allows the teacher and students of the whole group to work on the same task at the same time.
