Когнітивні процеси активації схем знання читача під час інтерпретації тональності поетичних творів (на матеріалі американської поезії ХХ століття)

Abstract

У статті проаналізовані когнітивні операції асоціювання/бісоціювання, котрі забезпечують обробку активізованих під час концептуальної інтерпретації тексто- вої семантики схем знання читача. Установлено, що операція асоціювання сприяє активації усього комплексу існуючих у свідомості читача знань та сприяє закрі- пленню активізованої схеми або її розширенню. Натомість, у випадках, коли схеми знання читача зазнають значних змін, відбувається оновлення існуючих схем. Цей процес завжди є результатом дії когнітивної операції бісоціювання. The article reveals the impact of cognitive operations of association/bissociation onto the reader’s knowledge schema processing while conceptual interpretation of textual semantics. The cognitive process of knowledge schemata activation is vital for the realization of textual tonality. The notion of knowledge schema is used to denote some specific part of background knowledge about a stereotype situation. Conceptual poetic interpretation is based on the semantic analysis which makes the process of schema activation possible. Taking into account the fact that person’s knowledge is stored in the form of firm associations, it was concluded that knowledge schema activation foregrounds all previous experience connected with it. Cognitive operation of association underlies mental spaces reconstruction and activates all background knowledge connected with certain schema and thus leads to schema reinforcement. Unlike frames, schemata are dynamic construal and backstage/background knowledge of a reader doesn’t contain all possible information about a scene or situation, so knowledge schemata can be enriched in the process of textual interpretation. It means that they are “filled” with the new information which doesn’t conflict the previous one. If in the process of textual semantics interpretation the preexisting knowledge schema deforms as the input information doesn’t cohere with the backstage one schema refreshment occurs and results in realization of comic tonality. This process is always based on the action of cognitive operation of bissociation.
