The Use of Artificial intelligence in education as an effective tool for developing foreign language communicative competency

Abstract

Метою даної публікації є аналіз можливості використання штучного інтелекту як засобу розвитку іншомовної комунікативної компетентності фахівців з навігації і управління суднами в контексті неперервної освіти. Завданнями дослідження є визначення потенційних переваг використання ШІ для розвитку іншомовної комунікативної компетентності; наведення прикладів використання ШІ у процесі викладання морської англійської мови; визначення завдань для подальшого вдосконалення використання ШІ як ефективного освітнього інструменту. Серед запропонованих прикладів застосування ШІ у навчальному процесі для розвитку іншомовної комунікативної фахівців з навігації та управління судном є наступні: розробка веборієнтованих навчальних ресурсів, перехід до персоналізованого навчання; розробка систем тестування та діагностики; організація онлайн-навчання та використання веб-платформ; використання VR-TECH на практичних заняттях з морської англійської мови. The purpose of this publication is to analyses the possibility of using artificial intelligence as a means of developing the foreign language communicative competence of specialists in ship handling and ship management in the context of continuing education. The objectives of the paragraph are to identify the potential benefits of using AI for the development of foreign language communicative competence; to provide examples of the use of AI in the process of teaching Maritime English; to identify tasks for further improving the use of AI as an effective educational tool. Among the proposed examples of AI application in the educational process for the development of foreign language communicative competence of navigation and ship handling specialists were the following: development of web-based learning resources, transition to personalized learning; development of testing and diagnostic systems; organization of online education and use of web platforms; use of VR-TECH in practical classes in maritime English.
